Welcome to another Conscious Spiritwork class in alignment with the new moon. This particular new moon on January 31st into February 1st is known as the Black Moon. The Black moon occurs when there are two new moons in January and March while there is no new moon in the month of January. The dark side of the moon is facing us during a new moon so we cannot see it in the sky which allows for the stars to shine even brighter.

As the second new moon of this month, we have the opportunity now to reset and clarify and set our intentions with even greater resolve. Shall we dig a littler deeper into what it is that we truly want, into our values and priorities, and what we are most called to create?

There are many different perspectives about the significance of the Black Moon. The new moon is an important time for setting your intentions for the month, to start anew with fresh goals in mind, and to perform rituals or practices that wipe the slate clean. The black moon only amplifies this cleansing energy, dragging your deepest strengths and desires to the forefront, uninhibited. It is also said to be a powerful time for quick manifestation, so if you have something important to ask the Universe, this is a great time to do it.

From another perspective, some astrologers says that this black moon is all about exposing our deepest and darkest feelings, unearthing our most terrifying skeletons and all things we void and keep hidden. With all of these feelings at play, it is a time that drama might ensue. Remain patient with yourself and others and pay attention to what is coming up. Think twice before making risky decisions and take it slowly.

Black Moons are essentially intensified New Moons, and therefore they are perfect for manifestations, creativity, new chances, and opportunities. Now is a time to begin to advance into your power and fullest expression of Self. We will experience heightened intuition, spiritual growth, and increased self-awareness. Allow yourself to relax, let go, and allow new opportunities and experiences into your life. Black moons show you what doesn’t matter anymore so it can be cut away, and so they are usually followed by new beginnings.

Some questions to ask ourselves to inspire our intentions for this time:

• What activities and people make you vibrate higher?
• In what ways do you feel abundance?
• Make a list of at least 10 things you’re grateful for and how they make you smile.
• What future plans are you excited about?
• Are you living life to the fullest potential? Why or why not? What actions can you continue or change?
• What stage are you at in life? Life is long, and you have so many years left! What are you going to do with them?

Knowing all of this information, I will also share that in the ancient yogic texts, it is stated that we should overcome the influence of the celestial bodies. In the process of meditation, one is able to sit for an extended period of time without moving, while the entire cosmos is shifting and changing around them. A powerful being is one who is aware of the astrological impacts and programming, but whom is so centered and ascended that even these massive planetary giants cannot disturb the peace and focus.

For this particular class we will be doing a powerful chakra balancing meditation infusing reiki and breathwork practices. Utilizing these techniques, it is my goal to help you to feel your chakras (energy centers) and be able to heal and balance them on your own. The class itself will be live on zoom but will also be recorded and sent to everybody signed up. You can expect it to be around 2 hours and it will begin at 7 PM EST.

This is a large reason that I host these classes during astrological events such as the new and full moons. It is up to us to put in the practice on the daily so that we can overcome the external influences. You should be aware of astrology but you should never let it control you or use it as an excuse to act a certain way. Ultimately, we are here to overcome our programming and transcend these influences.

Donations are on a sliding scale of $11-$111, however, I kindly ask that you pay as you feel and as you can. My intention is never to break the bank for anybody and I wish to have as many of you in this class as possible. At the same time, you get out what you put in. When you invest more you will feel more called to follow up with your investment rather than put it to the side. I know in my heart that these classes are worth well over any price that I can put on them.
