Recent evidence refutes the common conception of skeletal muscles representing mechanically independent actuators. Instead, they are morphologically linked by collagenous connective tissue, thus forming part of a body-wide network of myofascial continuity. The lecture provides an overview of those muscle-fascia lines that may be relevant to manual and physiotherapists.

A particular focus is on latest research findings focusing on the upper extremity as well as on the examination of force transmission under in vivo conditions.
